This was one of my first tastes of filming extreme sports. I hope to get heaps more work like it! I was in a team of awesome camera operators and the whole project was produced really well. There was one of those “I’m behind a lens and thus invincible” moments that could have cost me my life or at least my camera, but I turned to grab my tripod just as a motorcross bike and rider came crashing down off a jump in the spot I had momentarily moved from. Screaming in agony, the rider pleaded for help. There was a voice that said “should I help him, or film him” You know what I did aye? I am a camera operator!
